Program Treats Injuries in Flexible Way

I'd then go through a healing process that included acupuncture, chiropractic, ultrasound and massage. I'd get to a point where I could function again, only to injure myself again when I reached, lifted or twisted in a certain manner. Since the initial injury I developed sciatica, constant low back pain, and a guarded approach to the way I moved or functioned. Although I'd find my way back to a semi-normal manner of daily activity, my back was never the same after the initial injury.

So when I first met Crook, I not only was in chronic pain but I was a man on a mission.

And, four days after I met Crook, my chronic back pain was gone. He gave me a few simple exercises to try for a week and followed up by sending me InflexI, the first tape in a three-part series. After receiving the tape I did the exercises five to six days a week for the past year.

Now, one year later, I am happy to report my back problems are a distant memory. Gone is the chronic pain and spasms I had lived with for almost two years since the original injury.

It's not until an athletic recognizes that a full range of motion is necessary for an athlete to work at their optimum potential," says Crook, who serves a "movement Consultant" for the Professional Ski Instructors of America. "Limited movement or range of motion is why many athletes get injured, even though they may be at the top of their game, professionally speaking."

That might explain why his client list also includes athletes from the NFL, NHL, MLB, PGA and NBA.

Each fall and spring, PSIA brings Crook together with members of its national demonstration teams in alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and snowboarding. These athletes, considered the best in their fields, spend an intensive week with Crook working out twice a day. The routine includes a one-hour "wakeup" session in he morning followed by a strenuous two-hour program in the afternoon.

"Flexibility is a by-product of the Infield system," Crook says.

"When you learn to move properly through a full range of motion your body will begin to open in a complete and magnificent way."

When you watch his range of motion and degree of flexibility it's hard dot argue. Here's a man in his mid-40's who has the range and flexibility of a 13 year old gymnast. And he's brining that same attitude and ability to PSIA demo team members to bring them to new heights and higher levels of skiing.

After working with Crook, certain demo team members have notice such an increase in movement and flexibility that old injuries became less nagging or disappeared altogether. Some athletes were even able to forego knee surgery, which once was thought to be the only option. "Once you being to understand how the body functions and wants to move naturally," Crook says, "you being to unlock your areas of greatest potential."
