NEW TERRAIN PARK OPENS AT BERTHOUD PASS
BERTHOUD PASS, Colo.
– New for 2001, Berthoud Pass has built an 800-foot terrain park on the Continental Divide West Trail. Last year's terrain park, east of highway 40, has reverted back to groomed beginner terrain.Sean Daniels, head of Berthoud Pass Ski Patrol and terrain-park designer, said this year’s terrain park is worthy of Berthoud Pass. "Berthoud Pass’ terrain park has the feel of a
boarder cross in a terrain park all for $34 a day. It’s more than 800 feet in length of
jumps, rails, tabletops -- soon to be a quarter pipe -- and spine for your hucking enjoyment."
The tree-lined terrain park has close to 10 different hits. Skiers and boarders may choose between difficult or easy jumps. Daniels said he hopes to add a half pipe by spring.
Moving the terrain park gives Berthoud's skiers/boarders more vertical and a more consistent terrain. It will also free up additional beginner terrain on the East Mountain.
If you have questions, please call 800-SKI-BERT ext. 24.
Berthoud Pass ski area is Colorado’s oldest winter recreation area. Located on the Continental Divide on U.S. Highway 40, the ski area receives 500 inches of snowfall annually and has some of the most pristine backcountry terrain in the state.
