Location From Denver, 79 miles west on I-70 to exit 232. Continue on Highway 40, 15 miles north of Winter Park, two miles south of Granby. Berthoud Pass, Silver Creek’s alter ego, is just 29 miles south of Silver Creek on U.S. Highway 40.

Ownership Silver Creek Holding Co., Inc. owns Silver Creek Golf & Ski Ranch, Berthoud Pass ski area, Black Dog Mountaineering, Silver Creek Marina at Grand Lake, Silver Creek Rafting, and 5,500 adjoining acres of land.

Transportation Silver Creek Golf & Ski Ranch is accessible by car or bus. All major airlines service Denver International Airport (DIA).

Rental cars are available locally or in Denver.

Amtrak provides daily service to Granby and Winter Park/Fraser

"The Lift" is the free local shuttle that runs to and from most lodging properties and activities in the valley.

The Mountains Silver Creek ski area is comprised of two separate yet inter-connected mountains. East Mountain’s terrain is primarily beginner and intermediate, while West Mountain’s terrain is primarily intermediate and advanced with limited beginner access. Bear Bahn Park is a separate learn-to-ski park that features a surface lift for beginners.

Unique Features Silver Creek is home to Colorado’s only Guaranteed Start to Ski or

Snowboard Program.

Silver Creek is the first ski area in Colorado to incorporate the teaching techniques of internationally-known ski instructor Harald Harb and his Accelerated Skier Performance SystemÔ . Silver Creek is the on-snow home of Harald Harb and teaching partner Diana Rogers.

Silver Creek is home to the second largest night skiing operation in

Colorado, with a top to bottom terrain park under the lights.

snowbiking.

Skier Visits After a record-breaking season in 1997/98 with 107,399 (12.58% increase) skier visits, Silver Creek experienced a decline for the 1998/99 season with 90,330 (15.89% decrease) skier visits. During 1999/2000, Silver Creek had 92,514 skiers.

Base Area All five of Silver Creek’s lifts radiate from one central hub, the Sterling

Facilities Base Lodge. This central, three-story base facility houses lift ticket sales, ski school desk, information desk, nursery, child-care, rentals, retail shop, lost and found, lockers, cafeteria, restaurant, lounge, and selected administrative offices. First-aid facilities are in the Ski Patrol building just east of the Sterling Base Lodge.

Cross Country Silver Creek Golf & Ski Ranch offers 40 kilometers of groomed (tracked and

Skiing skating) trails for all abilities. In addition, through a cooperative effort with the adjacent YMCA Nordic Center, cross country skiers have an additional 100 kilometers from which to choose, making the Silver Creek/YMCA system one of the largest in Colorado. Rentals, tours and lessons are available in Silver Creek’s Sterling Base Lodge.

The Towns Silver Creek is located two miles south of Granby and 15 miles north of Winter Park. Both towns are known for a multitude of outdoor activities. Granby is a full-service mountain community with a strong ranching heritage. Services include a variety of restaurants and bars, banks, convenience stores, medical services, automotive services, grocery store, florists, and shopping. The Winter Park/Fraser area offers many of the same conveniences, with added restaurants and bars, shopping and a movie theatre.

Other Activities Amenities near Silver Creek include natural hot springs pools in nearby Hot Sulphur Springs, a bowling alley in Grand Lake, snowshoeing, health clubs, dog sled rides, sleigh rides, arcades, ice fishing, ice-skating, snowmobiling, pools, hot tubs, tubing, and hot air balloon rides.
